East Bay Karate-Do's Martial Arts and Fitness Programs


At East Bay Karate-Do we have training programs for every age, filled with physical activities and fun. Students and enthusiasts have many different reasons for their interest in the Martial Arts. Some are drawn to the physical fitness and weight-loss aspects of training. Others seek to add discipline and self control to their lives, while others are concerned about their safety and self-defense.

Here are the main life skills that are taught in our Martial arts Program:

Little Ninjas Karate Program

Little Ninjas Karate Program

Students ages 3 to 6 years old

Our specialized Little Ninja's Karate program is an age-specific curriculum that is professionally designed to teach children important life skills in a fun, exciting and enriching manner. Our secret to teaching your child coordination, concentration and self-control is a unique method we like to call "Edu-tainment". This uses the excitement and fun of the Little Ninja martial arts skills to teach key life lessons you would want your child to know.

Your child will achieve more than just learning to kick and punch

It's true that Little Ninja activities will keep your child physically fit and that many of the group activities show children the benefits of good behavior. But, best of all, your child's class curriculum will also help them see the value of teamwork, good manners and trying their best outside of the classroom.

Little Dragons Karate Program

Students ages 7-11 years old

Our Little Dragon Karate program combines traditional martial arts training with high level character development and state of the art teaching methods. Not only do our children learn self-defense, they also develop a very positive feeling about themselves and others. Your child will learn how to focus and concentrate. They will have fun while they workout and take pride in becoming more physically fit. Studying Martial arts builds moral character, physical strength, and the appreciation for the values of discipline, courtesy, and respect. Karate Kids are our future leaders!



Teen and Adult Karate

Teen and Adult Karate

Students 12 years old and up

Teens and Adults enjoy studying Martial Arts because it is interesting and motivating. You will have fun accepting the challenge of your health and physical fitness and learning the legendary self-defense skills of Martial Arts. When you study Martial Arts you will become stronger, more flexible, and much more confident in your ability to defend yourself, or others, if that need ever arises.

There is more to Martial Arts than most people realize. You will learn how to coordinate your body and mind. There is a feeling of inner strenght that you will possess once you have confidence in your physical self-defense skills. You will feel less vulnerable, more in control, and free to express yourself without worrying about being intimidated or ridiculed. You develop the confidence to take on new challenges, to venture outside of your comfort zone, and to grow as a person.

Our program will help you stay in shape. You will gain flexibility through our stretching techniques which will decrease your chances of injury in sports and everyday life. You will build strength and tone your body with dynamic, isometric, and repetitive exercises. You will also gain confidence and self-esteem by improving your physical fitness, body composition, skill level and self-defense skills.

Kickboxing classes

Fitness Kickboxing classes

Students 15 years old and up

Our Fitness Kickboxing class will get you in shape in less time then any type of aerobic class out there. Studies show that Fitness Kickboxing burns 800 to 900 calories per class, depending on the intensity of the person. Our program teaches you basic Kickboxing techniques, and how to generate the proper form and power to intensify your workout. You will also learn practical self-defense techniques. Our class format consists of 30 minutes of aerobic Kickboxing Combo's, 15 minutes of Free standing bag workout, and 15 minutes of abs and sculpting exercises.

 

 

After School Martial Arts Program

1st Grade to 6th Grade

If your child is in either a day care center or extended care for after school, but wish you could get them into the Martial Arts.  We have the perfect program for you.  We are NOT a daycare but an alternative to daycare.  We can provide your child a safe place from the time your child gets off from school, till the time you get off from work.  This program also offers a complementary "Van" pick up service for your child at his/her school located locally from our location (Please call to see if your school is on the pick up route)

 

 

Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu (Grappling) Program

Students 15 years old and up

Brazilian Jiu-jitsu is a Martial Art intended to control your opponent as much as possible using leverage and technique thus giving you a greater position for striking or submission holds.  Submission holds consist of joint manipulation, locks or choke holds and can be applied even if you opponent is much larger than you.

The art of Brazilian Jiu-jitsu is unique not just because of the sophistication of its techniques, but for the realism of its training methods.  No other art allows you to train at 100% without hurting your training partner.
